Last Rites for Mrs. Hall Today - Had Lived in Kansas Over Sixty Years--Services at 2:30 This Afternoon

One of this communty's long-time residents was taken by death early Sunday morning when Mrs. Anna Hall died at her home, southeast of Gypsum. She came to Kansas with her family 62 years ago, and had resided here since that time.

Although in failing health for some time, Mrs. Hall had returned only a week ago from a visit with her daughter, Mrs. Bernard Beetch, at Enid, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held at the family home this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:30, with Rev. B. W. Bergen, pastor of the Gypsum Baptist church, of which the deceased had long been a member, in charge. Interment will be in the Gypsum Valley Cemetery, southeast of Gypsum.

Obituary

As the faint rays of dawn were streaming in her window, one of Gypsum's oldest settlers, Anna Jean Gosso Hall, died Sunday morning October 2, 1938.

Seventy-five years, five months and twenty-nine days ago, she was born to the happy union of Aaron and Amanda Castle Gosso at Darien, Wisconsin.

At the age of thirteen years she was left motherless and upon her rested almost entirely the care of the household. In this responsible position she manifested unusual ability for one so young. She came to Kansas with her father and three brothers at the age of thirteen and made her home in this state until her death. She accepted Christ as her Savior in early life and began Christian work when quite young. She was a charter member of the First Baptist church of Gypsum and filled the capacity of a Sunday School teacher for many years. She remained faithful to her church until the time of her death.

In 1878 she was united in marriage to Elithan Davis Hall. To this union were born five children, Mrs. Bernard Beetch of Enid, Oklahoma, Lon E., Hall and Arthur L. Hall of Gypsum, Carl D. Hall of San Francisco, California, an infant son which died at birth. Her husband preceeded her in death, May 22, 1917.

Her wide host of friends were won through her generosity and willingness to help anyone in need. Whenever called she responded with a smile. She will be missed by her church and her many friends.
She leaves to mourn her departure, (Concluded on page four)

her four children, one brother Verne E. Gosso of Dallas, Oregon, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of friends.

From life's troubled shores you have gone
Mater mea, Mother of mine.
From sorrow and worry God has called
Mater mea, Mother of mine.
Although the silver cord be loosed,
Mater mea, Mother of mine.
Your love for me shall ever linger
Mater mea, Mother of mine.
His arms that were spread upon the cross,
Mater mea, Mother of mine.
Now enclose you in His fold
Mater mea, Mother of mine.
When from Life's boundries, my faith does break
Mater mea, Mother of mine.
We'll be together again, to spend eternity
Mater mea, Mother of mine.
