Richard Earl "Hinge" Arnott was born Jan. 13, 1925, in Milford to James Donovan and Lydia (Zentz) Arnott. He was active in many organizations in school including Varsity Basketball, Hi-Y and U.S Navy.
He married Delores Janet Kurtz, the daughter of William and Bertha (Stahly) Kurtz, on October 19, 1947. She graduated from Nappanee High school in 1946. She retired from the Wa-Nee community School Corp after 23 years as a secretary at Nappanee Middle School.
He was a barber in Nappanee for years, then worked at Utilimaster until his retirement in 1990. He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving in the South Pacific. Military graveside rites took place in Union Center Cemetery.
