Chatham, Feb. 9 - Mrs. Lydia Ann Pulliam, 76, wife of James H. Pulliam, and one of the best known residents of this community, died this afternoon at her home in Chatham. Mr. and Mrs. Pulliam celebrated their golden wedding recently after having spent the entire fifty years of their married life in Sangamon county. They resided on a farm east of Chatham but moved to this village about twelve years ago.
Mrs. Pulliam was born Nov. 26, 1851. Before her marriage she was Lydia Ann Shelhouse. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Charles Pyle, Springfield, and Eunice Pulliam, at home; three sons, Arthur, Glenarm; Leslie, Springfield; Dr. Madison J. Pulliam, St. Louis; one stepson, Ira V. Pulliam, Williamsville; also seven grandchildren. - Illinois State Journal, Springfield, IL, 2-10-1928
