Funeral services for Silas Cooper, 328 Chandler street, will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Third Christian church. Topeka post, G.A.R., and Topeka corps, W.R.C., will assemble at the home and attend the funeral in a body.

Mr. Cooper was born in Ohio county, Indiana, December 8, 1845, and in January, 1867, married Melvina Resner of Ohio county, to whom eight children were born. he is survived by the widow and seven children, Charles H., James H., Jesse, Henry C. Cooper, Mrs. Hattie Sturges of Topeka, Mrs. Elizabeth Montgomery of Kansas City, Mo., and Ezra Cooper of Topeka. he is also survived by one sister, Ludica Althof, of Bennington, Ind. he lived in Topeka the last 28 years.
