He had spent most of his entire lifetime in the vicinity of Stockham and was engaged in farming. He received his education in the Public Schools of that vicinity.
In October of 1938 he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was a member of the EMB Church in Henderson for several years. He was active in the work of his church and regular in attendance at church affairs.
On January 21, 1945 he was united in marriage to LaVera Kuhnke at Stockham, Nebraska. They farmed near Stockham. Two children blessed their home.
His parents, one sister, Mrs. Esther Rollo and three brothers, Arnold, Harold and Emil Nickolaus had preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Dennis Nickolaus and one daughter, Mrs. Linda Hodge all of Aurora; brother, Eldon Nickolaus of Hampton, Nebraska; two grandchildren and other relatives and many close friends who will cherish his memory.
