Wife of Dr. Harrod succumbs as result of injuries sustained in Roanoke wreck. Mrs. Jennie Harrod, 55, wife of Dr. Morse Harrod, died last night at 7:30 p.. at her home, 624 E. Washington Street, following an illness resulting from injuries sustained in the traction wreck at Roanoke in May 1924. (Trolley cars collided, killing 7, injuring 30).
At that time, Mrs. Harrod suffered severe injuries of the spine, which had rendered her practically an invalid until her death. Mrs. Harrod had been an active member of the First Baptist Church for many years. She was also prominently identified with the various women's organizations of that congregation.
Surviving are the husband, Dr. Harrod, 2 daughters, Mrs. Sidney H. Karn and Mrs. R.V. Waterman; 1 son, Wayne A. Harrod; 2 sisters, Mrs. P. Herring; and Mrs. L. A. Devilbiss; and 1 brother, Dr. U.G. Lipes.
