George's grandfather, Joseph Corey, was a survivor of the Wyoming Valley Massacre 1778 in PA.
The family ultimately removed to SE Nebraska from WI before 1870. While living in WI George married 1st Lydia N. born 1834 NY died abt 1857. They had two children, Amelia and Aresta, both born in WI. His 2nd wife was Emmeline D. born abt 1840 PA. From this marriage there were two sons born, Frank and Joseph.
George was a farmer most of his life. He served during the Civil War with the 25th Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry as did several of his brothers who served in different outfits.
I have been searching for his daughter, Aresta or Arista for several years and just today, 27 Jun 2012 found her on Find a Grave as Arista Rosalie Cory Mc Daniels. From George's obituary her married name was listed as Daniels. This finally closes another chapter of George's book of life.

George L. Corey Lincoln NE 1909: Aged 80 years, died Thursday at 4 o'clock following a short illness. Four children survive him. They are Frank of Saltillo, Joe of this city, Mrs. Lee of Omaha and Mrs. Daniels (Mc Daniels) found her correct married name on Find a Grave Jun 2012) of South Dakota. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 930 at the home of Mrs. C.W. Moon 310 So 24th. The body will be taken to Crete where burial will take place in the Crete Cemetery.
