Richard Lee McMillan 1908-2003 ST. JOHN -
Richard Lee McMillan, 94, died June 10 at his residence in St. John. He was born Nov. 2, 1908, in rural St. John, the son of A. Henry and Hattie McMillan.
He was a 1929 graduate of St. John High School. He married Madeleine F. Durham July 30, 1939, at Kinsley.
A resident of St. John since 1953, he was a farmer, truck driver, oil field worker and REA operator. McMillan was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War, all of St. John.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving with the Seventh Air Fleet at Bouganville in the South Pacific.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three daughters, Donna McMillan of Los Angeles, Calif., Alice Lockridge of Renton, Wash., and Lora Lee Hase of Bellevue, Wash.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Howard McMillan, Paul McMillan, Raymond McMillan and Robert McMillan; five sisters, Dayle Byer, Theresa Christian, Adeline Hendershot, Juanita Higgins and Margaret Schuessler.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Minnis Chapel Inc. of St. John, with the Rev. W. Harlan Rittgers officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Park Cemetery in St. John. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel. Memorials are suggested to the church, in care of the funeral chapel.
