ORVILLE E. TAYLOR
HEYBURN - Orville E. (Ern) Taylor, 81 year old Heyburn resident died Saturday, November 2, 1996, at the Cassia Regional Medical Center in Burley. He was born September 7, 1915, at Yost, Utah, the son of Joseph Edward and Olive Tracy Taylor. He attended schools in Yost, Utah, and attended high school in Oakley. He joined the U. S. Army in 1941 and served as a gun crewman in a heavy artillery unit in the Hawaiian Islands until 1945. He married Helen Hunter on April 5, 1982, at Elko, Nevada. Ern spent most of his life working herding sheep and cattle. He was very good with animals. He was a High Priest in the LDS Church and a member of the Paul American Legion. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, of Heyburn; four step-daughters, Susan (Tate) Dockstader of Heyburn and Barbette Wilson, all of Heyburn, Theresa (Luis) Rodriguez of Burley, and Cynthia Zavala of North Dakota; three step-sons, Ken (Brenda) Staker of Heyburn, Don Staker of Rupert, and James (Leana) Gifford of Wells, Nevada; a brother and sister-in-law, Boyd and Wilma Taylor of Malta; two sisters, Uarda Oman of Tremonton, Utah, and Larena Thompson of Bliss; two sisters-in-law, Edna Rasmussen of Declo and Valoy "Fluff" Taylor of Odgen, Utah; eighteen grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and one sister.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, 1996, at the Paul LDS 3rd & 4th Ward Chapel, 500 W. 300 S. of Heyburn, with Bishop's Counselor, Kay Catmull, officiating. Burial will be in the Marion Cemetery near Oakley with Military Rites under the direction of the Local Veterans. Friends may call at the Payne Mortuary, 221 West Main Street in Burley on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday.
