Bessie Rankin, daughter of Ed and Clara Rankin, was born July 10, 1881 at Tarkio, Missouri and passed away February 1, 1958 at the Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings....[line apparently omitted in printing]...years, 6 months and 21 days.

On May 16, 1903 she was united in marriage to Howard Adams and to this union four children were born.

She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Lawrence of Milwaukee, Wis., sons Donald and Robert of Hastings, Nebr., Bill of Galesburg, Ill., one sister, Mrs. Lulu Maury of California, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister.

Mrs. Adams spent the greater share of her life in the Palmer community where she was postmistress for several years.

Mrs. Adams was a member of the Methodist Church and while living in Palmer was an active member and hard worker in the local church.
