Mrs. VanPelt, a retired elementary school teacher, died Friday, July 30, 1999, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Born October 9, 1946, in Clay County, she was the daughter of Olyne Langford Borden of Allons and the late Edmond (Edd) Eugene Borden. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kennth Borden.
She was a member of Duncan Church of Christ.
Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband, Joe VanPelt, Duncan, SC; a daughter, Jennifer VanPelt, Charleston, SC; three brothers, Russell Borden, Cookeville, and Jerry Borden and Terry Borden, both of Allons.
Pallbearers were Lester Langford, Tim Young, David Dorminey, James Parrott, Joe Arney, and Adam Borden.
