Rene is survived by his father, Rene Sr of Los Angeles, CA - mother, Maria of Pasadena, CA - two sisters Natasha and Valerie Cataneda of Mexico, Grandparents, many Aunts, Uncles and cousins. All who miss him terribly.
Little Rene was the victim of child abuse - at the hands of his mother and her boyfriend Gabriel Diaz. They felt it was appropriate to restrain the toddler with masking tape - arms, legs, feet and mouth, for misbehaving. The day before his death lil' Rene was fussy at his babysitters, when his abusers picked him up, after their vacation in Las Vegas. For this Rene was bound with tape - and placed in his crib. The next morning, Maria found her baby boy had stopped breathing, after suffocating. Attempts to revive the precious baby were unsuccessful and Rene was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pelaez and Diaz are being charged with torture and murder - in Pasadena Superior Court.
