Beloved wife of O. T. Gooden, was born Oct 6, 1888, near Canton, Mo; departed this life Jan. 18th, 1928, at her home in Conway, Ark. Very early in life she heard the voice of God calling her to a higher life; she united with the Methodist church south and in this faith also lived a faithful and consistent Christian life, until death. She was the daughter of Mr.and Mrs. P. F. Gruber, who survive her. It can be truly said; that she was well raised and so highly did she prize those heavenly gifts and graces that she built up a most envious christian character, and she thus leaves to her many friends and relatives a most precious legacy, the memoriesof a life that brightened and blessed the lives of all she came in contact, and her devotion to her God,family and friends could not be excelled. In 1911, she entered Central College at Fayette and spent three years of her life in that institution. In June, 1919, she was united in married to Prof. O. T. Gooden, which proved a most happy union. While this union is apparently broken, it is in reality more sacred than ever. Funeral services were conducted a t the home of the parents Jan. 21st, by Rev. H.C. Corbin, after which a beautiful tribute was paid the deceased by Prof. Campbell of Conway, Ark. who graduated with Mrs. Gooden at Central College, and is associated with Prof.
