June Marie Kallas Wright, peacefully returned home to her Heavenly Father on Monday, October 1, 2007.

She was 81 years old.

June is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Richard) Valgardson of Provo, and sons, Rickie Glade Wright of Oregon, and Monte Kallas Wright of American Fork.

She leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a large extended family.

She also leaves four brothers and one sister, Stanley (Joyce) Kallas of Spanish Fork, Dan E. (Deanne) Kallas of Orem, Ann (Bill) Cranney of Lindon, Richard Kallas of California, and Alan Kallas of Payson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Clyde Kallas, Jay Kallas, Bobby Donald Kallas, and sister, Betty Alred.

She was born to Erma Hazel Wilkinson and Dan Kallas of Orem on June 1, 1926 at home.

She was the 3rd of 10 children.

After graduating from Lincoln High School, June met and married Glade E. Wright.

They later married in the Salt Lake Temple and after 30 years of marriage were divorced in 1974.

While raising a family, June was active in the LDS church serving in the Relief Society, various teaching positions, and drama director. She served a mission to Pennsylvania in her later years.

She was also a PTA president and set up a library for which she won a national award.

She had a small business making wedding cakes and eventually got into catering and became well known throughout the state for the huge and ornate weddings she put on.

Later, she took a job with a national food service company and lived in Hawaii for about 9 years, running food programs.

She also worked in Idaho, Nevada, California and Utah, at the Riverside Country Club, where she did fabulous displays of foods.

She loved to travel and visited 12 different countries around the world including her father's village in Greece.

After retiring, she built a home in Springville and settled in for a quiet life.

She was a unique and energetic person and will be greatly missed by all.

The family expresses thanks to Golden living Center for their great care this past year.

Friends and family are welcome to attend graveside services and interment on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, Provo, Utah.

Friends may call on Friday, October 5 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Berg Mortuary, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah.
