Harriet E. Dean, is the daughter of James & Mary Jane Mansfield Batman, born in Crawford County, In., on January 29, 1841. She was married in Crawford County, In. to James M. Dean, on December 14, 1837. To this union five children were born, Mary Alice, John William, Harry A., Ida Bell, and Jesse M. Dean.
She died on July 2, 1878 and is buried in the El Bethel Cemetery.
