He died Wednesday December 14, 1955, at the home of his son, Jennings Dean, after a long illness.
He is the son of James M. & Harriet Batman Dean, born in Crawford County, In. on March 31, 1874.
He was married to the former Sarah Catherine Tower on January 20, 1894, who preceded him in death on September 26, 1946.
Since early youth he was a member of the Methodist Church. He was always a devoted father, a respected citizen, helpful neighbor and loyal Christian.
Survivors are another son, Lloyd Dean, of near Leavenworth; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Faye) Boldt, of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Carl (Harriett) Zike, of Columbus, In.; a half sister, Mrs. Myrtle Scott, of Peoria, Ill.; a half brother, Zenor Dean, of Glendale, California; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
