VENETA MAN DIES ON JOB
Stephen Lucian Henderson, 61, of Rt. 1, Veneta, died of a cerebral hemorrhage Friday morning while working at a log loading operation for International Paper Co. 12 miles south of Vaughn.
Henderson was employed as a signalman and had worked for the company at Vaughn since 1944.
A company spokesman said that death was instantaneous.
Survivors include his wife and several children.

HENDERSON - Stephen L. Henderson of Rt. 1, Box 798, Veneta, passed away Friday, August 18, 1961 at the age of 61. He was born April 6, 1900 in Marysville, Calif. Besides his wife, the former Dollie Fisher, whom he married in Springfield, Oregon in 1934; he is survived by 4 sons: Thomas and Lloyd of Eugene, Le Roy and Harold of Veneta; 3 daughters, Ellnora Wilise of Tillamook, Vera Priest of Florence, Viola of Veneta; one sister, Stella Demacsek of Oakland, Calif., 12 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Poole Larsen Chapel, Tuesday, August 22, 1961 at 11:00 a.m. Daylight. Reverend David Marks officiating. Interment at Lane Memorial Cemetery.
