Vesta Jane Strait was a nurse and the daughter of Bennett Strait and Louisa Elizabeth Springer-Strait. One of five children, Vesta was born in Harrison Co., MO. She married Dr. Zimmerman Ross.

Dr. Zimmerman Ross and his wife Vesta Jane Strait-Ross are buried together in the Romeo Cemetery. Vesta J Strait of Bethany Mo. and Zimmerman Ross M.D. of Owasso, MI. were united in marriage in Bethany, MO on Aug. 28, 1902. Witness were Charlotte Delilah (Lottie) Strait & Henry Maxwell. Across from witness lines is J. W. (John Walton) Beauchamp and under his name are the initials which look like V.D.M.
