Funeral services were held in the Congregational church for Mr. N.B. Carver, a retired farmer of this community, who died in Loup City of a heart condition. Mr. Carver was born in Tennessee on 18 Feb 1866. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth; 3 daughters: Mrs.Hazel &(Paul)Owens of Arcadia, Mrs.Mida & (Sam) Zlomke of Litchfield, Mrs.Lucille & (Rex)Howe of Cody, WY; and 3 sons: Clifton & Julie of Ord, Maynard of Bell Flower, CA, & Maurice & (Opal) of Arcadia. Burial was in
Arcadia Cemetery.

N.B. Carver, a retired farmer of the Arcadia community, died at 5:30 a.m. January 6, of a heart condition in the Sacred Heart hospital at Loup City.
Napoleon B. Carver was born February 18, 1866, to Gilbert L. and Nancy Anne Carver, and departed this life at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 19 days. His father died when he was a small boy and he moved to Hampton, where he became a barber which practice he maintained for 20 years. Because of his health he moved to Red Willow county and engaged in farming which he continued after moving to Arcadia where he spent the remainder of his life.
On October 2, 1895, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Rathgeb at the home of the bride's mother, near Hampton. Seven children were born to this union, one dying in infancy.
Besides his bereaved wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Paul Owens, Arcadia; Mrs. Sam Zlomke, Litchfield; and Mrs. Rex Howe, Cody, Wyo.; and three sons, Clifton, Ord; Maynard, Bellleflower, Calif,; and Maurice, Arcadia, fourteen grandchildren and ten Great Grand-children.
Funeral services were held at the Congregational church, of which he was a member for 26 years, on Wednesday, with Rev. Gunsolley officiating. Mr. Gilbert Carver, nephew of the deceased, sang "Heaven on High", and Mrs. Clinton Masters sang "Abide with Me", accompanied by Mrs. Kermit Erickson.
Pallbearers were Ross Evans, Chas. Luedtke, Thurman Bridges, Clifford Freeman, Bob Hill, and H.M. Brandenburg. Interment was in the Arcadia cemetery.
Relatives attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. G.L. Carver, Kearney; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carver, Crookston; George Smith, Ansley; Mrs. A.B. Turner and Joe Turner, Mason City; John Turner, Broken Bow; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wolford and Willie Roach, Ansley; Mrs. Wm. Sorenson, Davenport; and Mrs. Geo. Hayes and son James of Seward.
