Mrs. Rebecca W. Moffitt, a native of Huntingdon county, died at the home of her son, Allison Moffitt, Galeton, Pa., on Friday morning, at 10:15 o'clock. Mrs. Moffitt, who maiden name was Rebecca Whippo, was born near Pennsylvania Furnance, Huntingdon county, on January 22, 1845. She was the last of her immediate family and was one of a family of thirteen children. Her husband, Reuben Moffitt, has been dead for forty years.
She is survived by one son, Allison Moffitt, of Galeton, Pa., and six grandchildren, as follows: Jessie and Victor Moffitt, of Galeton; Mrs. Waldo White, of Reynoldsville; Gladys Meredith, William Meredith and Mrs. Harold E. Beringer, of Tyrone, also six great grandchildren.
A prayer service will be held at the Moffitt home at Galeton on Monday evening. Funeral services will be held at the Mooresville Methodist Episcopal church on Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Mr. Rigby, followed by burial in the Mooresville cemetery.
