Funeral services were held at the Perryman Funeral Home in Red Oak, Thursday, at 10 a.m. for Harry Rhoades, son of Mrs. Caroline Rhoads of Emerson.
Rev. C. A. Speagh, past of the First Presbyterian Church of Red Oak was in charge of the services.
The music was furnished by Mrs. B. W. Newton, soloist and Mrs. Ray Cozad, organist.
The pall bearers were Will Crawford from Griswold, Guy Moore, Fred Havlin, A. W. Foust, Ed Johnson, and Oscar Webb. In charge of the floral offerings were Mrs. Dell Buehler and Mrs. Harry Draper.
Harry A. Rhoads was born August 14, 1880 in Macksburg, Iowa and passed away November 7, 1938 at the age of 58 years.
Mr. Rhoads moved to Emerson as a boy and lived here until 1929 when he moved to Red Oak, Iowa.
He was marred to Emma Clemmer West on July 3, 1903.
He is survived by one son, Leonard Rhoads of Red Oak, and four daughters, Miss Lillian, Mrs. Harry Herberlee and Mrs. Sam Cook Jr. of Red Oak and Mrs. K. H. Von Krog of Glendale, California; his mother, Mrs. Caroline Rhoads of Emerson and a brother Clyde Rhoads of Glenwood; two sisters, Mrs. W. W. Letz of Detroit, Michigan and Mrs. Minne Whisler of Emerson.
Mr. Rhoads loved ones and friends mourn his very sudden passing as his death came as a shock to his many friends.
Burial was in the Emerson Cemetery.
