She was a member of the Hooper's Creek Baptist Church for 30 years or more, and devoted in Christian life by all who knew her.
She was a good wife, mother, and neighbor. Her place will be hard to fill.
She was the daughter of Reuben Towe, of Fletcher. She first married William Taylor, son of Richard Taylor who died May 3, 1880, to whom two children were born, Mrs Lum Cole, of Greers, SC and Mrs W. C Moore, of Hendersonville, N. C. Later she married James Barnwell, son of Dave Barnwell, to whom eleven children were born, nine living, four girls, and five boys, Mrs Zannie Lyda, Hendersonville; Mrs. P S Souther, Mrs Ossie Calton and Miss Lonie Barnwell, all of Fletcher; Erwin Barnwell of Georgia; Willie Barnwell of Weaverville; Burgin, Vollie, Boyd Barnwell, all of Fletcher, and also 32 grand children and two great grand children.
The funeral was conducted at Hooper's Creek Church Saturday at 11 o'clock by Rev. Mr. Melton, of Fruitland.
She leaves husband, children, grand children, six sisters, three brothers and a host of friends to mourn their loss.
Gone but not forgotten. The Lord's will be done, not ours.
