Funeral services for Robert Lee Malone will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers in Pineville with the Rev. Winford Belgard officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Malone, 83, of Tioga, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Malone was a retired aide at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of AFLCIO Local 1972 and Lee Heights Baptist Church, where he served as deacon.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Lea McKnight; and parents, George W. Malone and Rosa Mitchell Malone.

Survivors include his wife, Flora Malone of Tioga; a son, Robert Lawrence Malone and wife, Cathy, of Pineville; son-in-law, Herbert McKnight Sr. and wife, Patsy, of Prospect; a brother, Cam Malone and wife, Laurie, of Chula Vista, Calif.; sisters, Bernice Misner and husband, Welby, of Tioga, and Clovis Jordan of Groves, Texas; grandchildren, Valerie, Herbert Jr., James, Carrie, Kelly, Amber, Bobby and Amy; and great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Brenden, Duncan and Mason.

Pallbearers will be Herbert McKnight, John Dykes, Bobby Malone, Herbert McKnight Jr., James McKnight and Raymond Roberts.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
