Sudden Death of Clyde Brown
Forrest Clyde Brown, died at his home in Fairbury, Nebr., Saturday morning, August 13, 1938, at the age of 54 years, i month and 28 days.
He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Brown, both of whom have preceded hi in death. He was born in Woodward, Boone county, Ia., June 15, 1884. He remained there until about three years of age coming at the time with his parents to Washington county, Kans., where the family resided until 1890 when they came to Fairbury.
He was married to Jessie Shuey April 18, 1905.
In the year 1913 he was appointed driver for the Fairbury Fire Co. the company using horses at that time. He served as driver until he was appointed chief in 1919, a position he filled until 1931 when he moved to Grand Island where he served that city as chief of the fire department for two years. He returned to Fairbury in August 1933 and entered business for himself.
Surviving him are his widow and two sons, Harold of Fairbury; Glen of Daykin, two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Hertzell and Mrs Leta Arnold both of Fairbury, seven grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Enoch Cook, Arcadia, Calif; and four brothers, Will of Montrose, Colo; George, Jim and Cliff of Fairbury.
He was a member of the Methodist church and active in the I.O.O.F. lodge of Fairbury.

Funeral services were held at the Christian church Tuesday morning, Rev R. E. Deadman Officiating. Pall bearers were Claude and Harry Arnold, John and Cal Brown Joe and Tom Cook. Burial in the Fairbury cemetery. Traum service
