W. T. S. Brown, 88, Succumbs at Home of his Daughter
Following a long period of illness, W. T. S. Brown, 88, died Tuesday June 30, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. D. W. Fullerton, east of Montrose. A retired Realtor, he had been a resident of the Montrose community for the past 15 years.
William Tecumseh Sherman Brown was born Oct. 22, 1864 at Edgerton, Ohio, and made his home in the vicinity of his birthplace until he was 21 years of age. After moving to Colorado, he lived at Holly and Seibert for a number of years.
On Nov 26, 1888 he was married at Washington, Kan., to Laura Russman, who succumbed April 28, 1945, after an extended illness. Four daughters and one son were born to them: Mrs. G. D Fullerton, Long Beach, Calif,; and Mrs. D. W. Fullerton, Mrs. Charles Annear and Curley Brown, all of Montrose. A daughter, Mrs. Ruth Patton, died in 1934. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, one brother, James Brown, Fairbury, Nebr. and a sister, Mrs. Alice Cook, Los Angeles, California. He was a life of the I.O.O.F. lodge in Seibert. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning at 10:00 o'clock from Ormsbee Chapel. Interment will be made in Holly, Colo.
