Hubert J. Lafont Jr.
Hubert J. Lafont Jr., 77, a native of Golden Meadow and a resident of Cut Off, died at 8:49 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, 2001.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Galliano.
He is survived by his wife, Arteline Rousse Lafont of Cut Off; three sons, Dennis and Jody Lafont, both of New Orleans, and Russell Lafont of Cut Off; three sisters, Isabelle Vizier of Golden Meadow, Ruby LeBlanc of Franklin, and Gloria Eymard of Cut Off; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Lafont Sr. and Marie Hebert Lafont; and two brothers, Ines and Duffy Lafont.
He was a citrus farmer, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal and a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church.
