A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow for Marie Hebert Lafont, 94, a native of Houma and resident of Golden Meadow, who died at 12:30 a.m. Feb. 9, 1999.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. until funeral time at the church.
Burial will be at the church cemetery.
She was the mother of Duffy, Hubert Jr. and Ines Lafont, Isabella Lafont Vizier, Ruby Mae Lafont LeBlanc and Gloria Lafont Eymard; and sister of Elie Hebert. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and
five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Lafont Sr.; parents, James and Isabella Ledet Hebert; brothers, Albert, Lawrence, Roosevelt and James Hebert; sisters, Annie Crochet, Lovina Kramer, Maggie LeBouef; and two grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild.
She was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Ladies Altar Society.
