Elizabeth Anderson Tranter Bigler was the daughter of Thomas Tranter and Sarah Collins. She married Abner Chase Bigler On January 10, 1876 in the Endowmment House in Salt Lake City. The couple had twelve children: Amy Elizabeth, Abner Tranter, Nina Alice, Blanche Lapreal, Sarah Ellen, Florence Dean, Clarence Gean, Lillian Bell, Goldie Itha, Clarissa Leila, Daniel Erin, and Vera Bathsheba.
