Edward Groman was a bookbinder, musician and band organizer in the gay nineties. He made his home with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Groman, Bethlehem. From 1913 to 1919 he was in the French "Foyers du Soldat" serving the 36th Aero Squadron A.E.F. at Sazaux Lak during the World War. It was at this station that he met many of "our boys over there."

He lived a wonderful religion every day; gentle, unselfish and kindhearted. He was a regular fellow and a servant of God. Mr. Groman was born in Bethlehem, a son of the late Charles F. and Emma Shultz Groman. He was educated in the Moravian Parochial School, now the Moravian Preparatory School. He learned the trade of bookbinding from the late Anton Hesseat, the printer of the Moravian Congregation on Main Street. Later he established a bindery for the Times Publishing Company managed by the late Joseph Weaver. Mr. Groman's last place of employment was as a binder with the Bethlehem School District. One of the City's outstanding musicians, he was the leader of the old Fairview Band and played in the Moravian Church Orchestra.

Mr. Groman is survived by two sons, Edward, Jr. of Aarillos, Texas and Ezra of Bethlehem; a daughter, Mrs. Florence Bennett of San Mateo, California; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Adelaide Groman, Mrs. Anna Mitchell and Mrs. Mary Wieand, all of Bethlehem. H was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Thomas Lee of Linden Street and Henry of N. New Street.

The Rev. Dr. C. Arthur Meilicke, pastor of Central Moravian Church, will officiate at funeral services from the late's home.
