Ezra Groman was the founder of the Groman's Bakery in Bethlehem. He opened his first shop in 1927 in a basement at 26 W. North Street and developed a specialty in Moravian-style baked goods. Over the years he opened businesses at several North Side locations, and his trade and reputation flourished. In 1963, the main bakery was established at 525 Second Avenue. His son, Richard F. of Bethlehem, became a partner in 1947 and today the are four stores in Bethlehem and a store at Hess Brothers, Allentown.

Born in Bethlehem, he was the husband of Lillian (Lanshe) Groman and the son of the late Edward S. and Sally (Prosser) Groman. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Central Moravian Church. Surviving besides his widow is a son Richard of Bethlehem; two daughters, Mrs. Rita Behler of Bethlehem and Mrs. Patrica Seem at home; a sister, Mrs. Florence Bennett of San Mateo, California; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will me at 11:00am Monday in the chapel of Central Moravian Church. There will be no calling hours. The Snyder-Hinkle Funeral Home, 527 Center Street, is in charge of the arrangements.
