Janet Sprouse Mallory, 56, of Turkey, NC, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2010 at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 1, 1954 in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of Franklin R. Sprouse and the late Lena Morris Sprouse.
Janet served her country for 13 years in the U.S. Army, where she worked in Transportation. After leaving the service, she and her twin sister owned and operated Sprouse's Logging LLC.
She leaves behind her twin, Janice Sprouse Brown and fiancé, Denney Ratliff, of Edinburg, VA, a brother, Wendall Sprouse, a sister, Joyce Lawson and husband Jessey, A sister, Denice Sprouse; two daughters, Melissa Fitz and Wendy Colvin and husband John; five grandchildren, Randall Fitz, Samantha Trainum and husband Ian, Kayla Willis, Adam Fitz, and Carissa Colvin, a nephew Dennis Taylor and wife Angie, and their three children, Cody, Jennifer and Kaylee; and a great grandchild on the way.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Holly Memorial Gardens with Rev. Michael Jordan officiating.
