EL PASO - The funeral of Charles M. Shoemaker Sr., 86, of El Paso will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Froelich Memorial Home, El Paso. The Rev. Kenneth Barth will officiate. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the memorial home.

He died at 3:33 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 7, 2001) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, El Paso, where he was a resident.

Memorials may be made to Heritage Manor Nursing Home, 555 E. Clay, El Paso; or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Mr. Shoemaker was born March 8, 1915, in Ellsworth, a son of Walter Boyd and Susie Ann Kesler Shoemaker. He married Pinkie Evelyn Ales on Dec. 24, 1936, in Eureka. She died Dec. 27, 1996.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Youngken, Lebanon, Ind.; two sons, Charles M. (Susie) Shoemaker Jr., Towanda; and Gary (Cheryl) Shoemaker, Sebring, Fla.; one sister, Dorothy Houck, El Paso; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Eugene Shoemaker; three brothers; and a great-grandchild.
