Edward L. Arnold, 84, well known retired farmer of Preble, died at 1:05 p.m. Sunday at the Adams County Memorial Hospital following an illness of three and one-half weeks.
He was born in Kirkland Township November 23, 1884, a son of Frank and Susan Barger-Arnold, and was married to Eliza P. Johnston March 6, 1906. His wife preceded him in death November 20, 1966.
Mr. Arnold was a member of the Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are three sons, Lowell Arnold of Fort Wayne, and Richard and Paul Arnold, both of Decatur Route 2; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Two sisters and five brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren, with Rev. Oliver Dearing officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Dale Cemetery. Friends may call at the Winteregg-Linn Funeral Home after 2 p.m. today and until 11 a.m. Tuesday, and at the church from 12 noon until time of the services.
