Erwood Ivan Schrecengost was born Dec. 11, 1917, in Plumcreek Township, a son of Joseph and Myrtle (Harkleroad) Schrecengost.

"Bob" was a truck driver for Bauer Block for 37 years.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bob was a member of St. Paul's Congregational Church, Rural Valley, and the Blanco Grange.

At the age of 96, Erwood Ivan "Bob" Schrecengost, of Plumcreek Township, passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at Margaret Manor.

He was survived by his loving spouse, Betty (Yount), whom he married April 17, 1939; daughter, Myrtle L. Schall and husband, Darl, of Kittanning; two sons, Robert L. (Shirley) Schrecengost and Lloyd D. (Linda) Schrecengost, both of Rural Valley; two grandsons, Jim Schall and Eric Schrecengost; four granddaughters, Brenda Boyer, Tammy McCauslin, Susan Preyer and Amy Beers; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Russell Schrecengost; and one great-granddaughter.

Services at St. Paul's Congregational Church, Rural Valley, with Pastor Tim Lewis officiating.
Burial in the St. Paul Church Cemetery.
