Maud Muller Hicks, 90, was born August 22, 1895 in Grove, Okla. to Thomas William and Clara Ann Barber and passed from this life Thursday morning, May 15, 1986 at her daughter's home in New Caney, Texas.
Mrs. Hicks came to the Crawford community in 1900 with her parents and lived in the area until January, 1986 when she went to New Caney, Texas to make her home with her daughter.
On February 27, 1912, she was married to Henry Harry Hicks, Jr. in Gem, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1960. Mrs. Hicks had been a member of the Crawford Church of Christ for a number of years.
Those who preceded Mrs. Hicks in death in addition to her husband were her parents, one daughter, Velma Butler in February 1986, one sister and two brothers.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Ola Murray and Sylvia Taylor, both of New Caney, Texas; one son, Grover George Hicks of Henderson, Texas; 6 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 1 sister, Vauda Brown, 1 brother, Frank Barber of Crawford, Okla. and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Monday morning, May 19, 1986 at 10 a.m. in the Magnolia Baptist Church of Crawford, with Harold Knight and Victor Eubanks officiating. Interment followed in the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne.
Pallbearers were grandsons and great grandsons.
