Funeral services for Lou Selley were held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 16, 1961 at the Sutphen Funeral Home with Rev. Paul C. Ellis officiating in the absence of Rev. Alvin Sigafus, who was unable to be present.
Pall bearers included Dale Lewis, Malcolm Posten, Roy Selley Pau Posten, Donadl Osmond and Donald Wright. Flower bearers were Mrs. Edna Larson and Mrs. Della Shepherd. Music was by Frances Gray, accompanied by Patricia Penwell. Concluding services and interment was in Arlington Cemetery.
Elizabeth L Selley, daughter of H. and Mary Posten Mitchell, was born June 4, 1879 at Villisca and passed away at the Charley Shepherd home June 14, 1961.
Mrs. Selley was a Villisca High School graduate in the class of 1897, and following graduation taught in the Montgomery County schools for many years. Later she maintained a dressmaking shop in Villisca with her sister, Nellie.
She was united in marriage to Edward Selley on March 1, 1905. Mr. Selley preceded her in death April 11, 1948. Mr. and Mrs. Selley formerly lived in Nodaway and Farragut where they were engaged in the farm implement business and after coming to Villisca they resided on the farm now owned by Roy McClellan, which is just east of Villisca. Later they moved to Villisca.
Mrs. Selley leaves to mourn her loss several nieces and nephew, one brother-in-law and four sisters-in-law, cousins and may friends.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
