SALINA — Maxine B. Larsen, 86, died Aug. 9 at the Kaye Pogue Hospice Center, Salina. She was born Oct. 15, 1923, at Selden, the daughter of Charles Oscar and Elizabeth Marguerite (Hemer) Deibert. She married Glann James Larsen on Nov. 27, 1946, at Reno, Nev. He died Dec. 8, 2002. She was a homemaker, wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She was a Great Bend resident since 1946, moving to Salina in 2005.
Mrs. Larsen was a member of First United Methodist Church, Great Bend, and was active in Girl Scouts.
Survivors include one daughter, Beverly J. Cole and husband Dale of Salina; two grandchildren, Eric Cole of Key West, Fla., and Traci Cole of Shawnee; and her puppy, Heidi. She was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend, with the Rev. Tom Sheldon officiant. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 901 East Neal, Salina. The service will be streamed live online at triumc.org/maxine. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend. Donations to memorial funds for First United Methodist Church, Great Bend; Trinity United Methodist Church, Salina; or Eaglecrest Retirement Community, Salina; and Hospice of Salina, may be made in care of the funeral home.
