OBITUARY
Obit:Syracuse Herald - March 9, 1983 - Homer - Funeral services will be at 10 am for John T. Lansdowne, 83, of 105 Clinton St., who died yesterday in Cortland Memorial Hospital. He was born May 18, 1899 in Taylor, the son of Timothy & Cora Lansdowne. Mr. Lansdowne was a member of the First Methodist Church of Homer. He worked at Newton Waterworks for several years, at Durkee Bakery and as a dairy farmer. He and his wife, Sylvia H. celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in the summer. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, John T. Jr. of Truxton, Gerald of Lockport and Donald J. of Cortland; a daughter, Laverna McMillian of Jupiter Fla.; two brothers, Roland of Sempronius and Leonard of Seminole, Okla.; four sisters, Mrs Leafa Eggleston of Norwich, Cora Higgins of Summerhill, Mrs. Alpha Cross of Arizona and Martha Twilliger of Cortland; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Briggs Memorial Home of Homer is in charge of arrangements. The Rev. David A Geer will officiate. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 pm today at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Homer.
