Homer - Jay E. Landsdowne 75 of Lake Como died yesterday at Cortland Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Services will be 10AM Monday at Briggs Memorial Home . Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 PM tomorrow at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife the former Edith Pittsley; seven sons, Clyde of Summerhill, Jay L. of Azusa Calif. , Richard , Ray , Roy , Howard and Marvin all of the Lake Como area; three daughters , Mrs. Bonnie Dewey of Lockport, Mrs. Elizabeth Waldron of DeRuyter and Mrs. Janice Morgan of Lake Como, three brothers , John of Homer , Rolland of Sempronius and Leonard of Seminole Okla. four sisters Mrs. Leapha Eccleston of Norwich, Mrs. Cora Higgins of Summerhill, Mrs. Martha Terwillinger of Cortland and Mrs. Alpha Cross of Taylor; his mother Mrs. Cora Lansdowne of Summerhill; 54 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Born in Taylor he had retired as a dairy farmer and had been a superintendent of highways for the town of Summerhill. He had resided in the Lake Coma area 41 years.
