Mrs. Ida Giva Adams, 78, of Walnut Ridge, died Saturday following a long illness. The widow of Claude Adams, who died in 1963, she was born in Benton but moved to Lawrence County in early life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Walnut Ridge United Pentecostal Church.

Surviving are one son, Kenneth Adams of Walnut Ridge; two daughters, Deleta Rush of Walnut Ridge and Mazie Lee Hudson of Swifton; two brothers, Ray Luther of Black Rock and Roy Luther of Hoxie; six sisters, Effie Luther of Walnut Ridge, Elva Pickett of Joplin, Mo., Leoda Brightwell of Castleville, Mo., Leon Parks of Dinuba, Calif., Juanita Smith of Alicia, and Ruth Sanderford of Washington; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 in the chapel of the Bryan Funeral Home in Hoxie, with Murphy Spurlock and Kelsey Haggard officiating. Burial will follow in the Strangers Home Cemetery, under the direction of the Bryan Funeral Home, where visitation will be held this evening from 5 to 8.
