Roy O Allen, 74, of near Farmington died Monday at 2;20 p.m. while visiting friends in Yates City. He was born at Uniontown Oct 25, 1891. Mr Allen was married to Faye Owen on Aug 31, 1915. Survivors include the widow, three sons, Wilson of near Farmington, Kenneth of Farmington and Donald of Trivoli; nine grandchildren, a brother, Bruce of Palestine, and a sister, Mrs Lillian Bock of Dahinda. Mr Allen was a carpenter for coal mines located at Hanna City, Middlegrove and Pekin until he retired. He also was superintendent of the Sunday school for the Uniontown Baptist Church until it was disbanded in 1959. Following his retirement he had taken an active part on the Yates City Cemetery Board. Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Patterson Funeral Home in Elmwood. Burial will be in the Uniontown Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
