Mrs Emma Hoff, 84, R.R.2, Sunman, died Saturday evening in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Stanley (Martha) Ertel, of Napoleon.

Mrs. Hoff was born Sept. 22, 1898, near Sunman, the daughter of Henry and Ida Briggs Hartman. She was married Sept. 22, 1920, to Jacob Hoff, and he preceded her in death Jan. 5, 1976. She was a member of the St. Paul's Catholic Church in New Alsace and the Kenneth Divers American Legion Post Auxiliary of Sunman.

She is survived by two sons: Alvin Hoff, Aurora, and Anthony Hoff, Batesville; two daughters: Mrs. Ertel and Mrs. Henrietta Ballinger, of Cincinnati; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, John Hartman, R.R.3, Sunman and one sister, Cora Mann, Eaton, Ohio.

The services will be conducted at 9 a.m. EST at the St. Paul's Catholic Church in New Alsace with burial in the St. Paul Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Cook's Funeral Home in Sunman.
