he was born in Whitley County Kentucky, but moved to Crawford County Arkansas where he married 10 July 1887 Elizabeth "Lizzie" Robards/Roberts daughter of William & Amy (Meadows/Meadors) Robards
They were the parents of;
Ira Franklin
Milford M.
William C.
Ancil Gatleth
Amy M.
Purnie Iva Pearl
Dessie Sarah
and possibly two others named Buddy & Nettie , that must have died as infants
all children born in Arkansas, this family later moved to Jenks Oklahoma area, Lizzie died in the 1940's and is buried in the Bixby, Oklahoma Cemetery as is their daughter Amy.

JOE S. CREEKMORE, 78, DIES IN DAUGHTER'S HOME
Joe S. Creekmore, 78, died in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Dessie Crittenden, near Hughson last evening.
Creekmore, born in Whitley, KY, June 5, 1865, engaged in farming near Jenks, Okla., a number of years, retiring about a year ago to make his home near Hughson.
Besides Mrs. Crittenden, he leaves the following children; Ira Creekmore of Modesto, Milford and Ancil Creekmore of Hughson, Mrs. Purnie Anglin of Hughson. He was the brother of Barry Creekmore of Arkansas, Simpson and Andrew Creekmore of Oklahoma, Mrs. Betty Meadows of Arkansas, Mrs. Lilly Burr of Tulare and Mrs. Lorraine Parks of Los Angeles. He also leaves 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock in Moore's Funeral Chapel with Rev. C. C. Muston officiating. Interment will be in the Modesto Cemetery.
