FORT MYERS NEWS-PRESS, Thurs., October 13, 1966 - Mrs. Dorothy Merriman Gillespie, 66, of 1524 Barcelona Avenue, died yesterday after a long illness. A resident of Fort Myers for the past 40 year, Mrs. Gillespie and her late husband Vaughn owned and operated the Lee County Metal and Roofing Company for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and a member of the DAR. Survivors include her son, Donald Gillespie of Naples, her mother, Mrs. Agnes P. Merriman of Fort Myers; a nephew Clifton O. Brown of Fredericksburg, Va., and two grandchildren. Funeral service has been set for 2 p.m. Friday from the Chapel of the Harvey Funeral Home with Rev. Paul E. Haynes, pastor of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens.
