Susannah "Susie" Walk was the fifth of nine known children of Abraham J. Walk (1782-1866) and Catherine (went by Cathy) Lopp Walk (1783-1858), who married c1810 in probably Indiana. Abraham had first been married to Hannah (maiden name unknown) (1783-???) in c1808 (in North Carolina or Indiana?). It is not thought that Abraham and Hannah had any children. It is thought that Abraham moved from North Carolina to Harrison County, Indiana in 1808. At the time of the 1810 census Abraham and his second wife, Cathy, were living alone at Harrison County, Indiana.
Susie married Joseph L. DeWeese, Jr. (1816-1894) on 03 August 1837 at Harrison County, Indiana. Susie and Joseph were the parents of five known children, namely:
1. George William Deweese (1838-1914)
2. Johnathan L. Deweese (1840-???)
3. David F. Deweese (1841-1920)
4. Mary Jane Deweese Mugler (1842-1911)
5. Martha Jane Deweese Krausgrill (1856-1935)

Deweese (age 11, born Indiana) were living at Jackson Township, New Salisbury Post Office, Harrison County, Indiana. Who was Lydia? If she was really a daughter and 11 years old why wasn't she listed on the 1850 census? In 1870 the parents, a Mastison (spelling? listed as female, age 17, farm laborer, born Indiana, really a female? usually a person listed as a farm laborer was male, or perhaps Martin?) Deweese and Martha Deweese (age 14, female) were living at Harrison County, Indiana. Who were Mastison and Martha? Was Martha a cousin of some sort? Her death cert says she was born at Perry County, Indiana the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Deweese. In 1880 the parents, and three grandchildren: Emma Mugler (age 19), Joseph Mugler (age 11) and Susan Mugler (age 7) were living at Jackson Township, Harrison County, Indiana.
