George Aguayo (19039660) of Imperial, California. Born 1920; enlisted December 31, 1941.

Assigned as a radio operator to 565th Bomber Squadron, 389th Bomb Group (Heavy). He took plart in several missions, including the infamous raid on Ploesti, for which he received the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Technical Sergeant Aguayo was flying with B24 42-40793, "Blond's Away," on a mission to Soligen, Germany. The badly damaged aircraft crashed at an emergency field outside of Manston, UK, killing the entire crew.

Aguayo was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal, and the Purple Heart.
