John Cherny, 82, Dies; Services To Be Thursday
North Bend - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the residence for John Cherny, 82, retired lumber, coal and grain dealer and a resident of this community about 63 years. He would have been 83 on Dec. 30.
Mr. Cherny, long active in civic affairs here until his age forced his retirement, had been in failing health for some time. He was a long time member of the IOOF lodge and was a charter member of the North Bend fire department. He was born in Czechoslovakia and came to this country at the age of 10.
Immediate survivors are two sons, Leon and James Cherny, daughters, Millie and Alice, all of North Bend, and another daughter, Mrs. Helen Brown of Columbus.
Rev. Filipi of Clarkson will conduct the services Thursday afternoon, with the IOOF lodge in charge of part of the rites, and burial will be in Killian cemetery. Sellhorn mortuary of North Bend is in charge of arrangements.
