Anne is the daughter of Daniel Jensen DAMGAARD and Abelone Marie MAX or MAXDATTER. She married Henry Nicholaus DREYER on 14 Oct 1865 in Sonder Bjert, Vejle, Denmark. Both of Anne Marie's parents having recently died. From the birth dates of their children sometime between 1873 and 1876 Henry and Anna Marie arrived in the United States. From Anna Laurine's bible the family came to the US and settled in Missouri in 1873 late summer. Henry and Anna Marie had 5 children before coming to America and then 2 more after arriving here. Helene Johanna (4th child) died in (possibly Oct) 1873 at the age of 2 possibly in Missouri.

In 1880 Henry and Anna Marie and family are living in Lincoln Township, Andrew Co., Missouri. In 1900 Anna Marie is living in Lewis, Pottawattamie Co., Iowa with her youngest son Otto and daughter Helena. In 1905 she is living in Pottowattamie Co., Iowa with Otto and Helena. 1905 is the only state census I have been able to find her in even though I should be able to find her in 1885 and 1895. About 1911 Anna Marie and her youngest son Otto moved to Canada. In 1920 Anna Marie died in Perdue, Saskatchewan, Canada and is buried in the Wheatfield Cemetery in Kinley, Battleford Census Division, Canada.

There is some confusion about Anna Marie's maiden name. She appears in documents as Ann(a) GORDON on August's marriage record, Helen's first marriage and Catherine's death records (and probably other records). She appears as Anna Marie DAMGAARD on Helen's 2nd and 3rd marriage records and on Otto's Death record. It seems to be pretty certain from her birth/baptismal record that she is the daughter of Daniel Jensen Damgaard and Abelone Marie Max. But I have no explanation for the Gordon name.

Anna's gravestone is hard to read but it looks like is has her birth year as 1838 but the records I have confirm that she was born in 1837.

If anyone has additional information about the family I hope you will contact me.
