Pittsboro, Sept 18.1901
Mrs Louisa M. Rencher, widow of Governor Abraham Rencher, daughter of Solicitor General Jones and sister of Dr. J B Jones, late of Charlotte, died at her residence in this place this morning at 10 o'clock, aged 94 years
One of eleven children born to Col Edward Jones, Solicitor-General State of North Carolina, 1790-1828 and his wife Mary Elizabeth Mallett.
Louisa married Abraham Rencher in 1836. They had 8 children, four of whom died at a young age.
The children surviving to adult hood were John Grant Rencher, William Conway Rencher, Charlotte Geneva (Eva) Winston, and Sarah Douglass Anderson.
Neither of the boys ever married. They lived with her at their home in Pittsboro. William died scarcely a month before she did, and John died in 1909.
By all accounts she was a doting mother, and loving companion.
The last surviving direct descendant of Louisa and Abraham passed away in 2002. She was their great grandaughter, Shirley Rabb Winston
