NORTH VERNON -- Frances O. Flick, 80, of Beam Road in Columbus died at 9:35 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 1998, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

She was a 1935 graduate of Butlerville High School and a 1937 graduate of Hanover College. She taught in Butlerville, North Vernon and Scipio schools and then in Clay Township School in Bartholomew County. She retired from South Decatur School System in Decatur County.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Columbus, Bartholomew County and Indiana Retired Teachers associations and Kappa Kappa Kappa sorority.

Funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Vernon Cemetery, with the Rev. Bart Smith officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Dove-Sharp and Rudicel Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Bartholomew Consolidated School Foundation Memorial Fund.

Mrs. Flick was born in Butlerville June 23, 1917, the daughter of Russell H. and Rita Idell Sheriff Chaille. She married Harold Flick in June 1942, in San Francisco. He died June 24, 1975.

She is survived by a son, John W. Flick of Toledo, Ohio; and a sister, Marcella Bricker of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Martha McCray.
